WHAT
Photography Exhibition
Café Jumping Bean, a decade-long supporter of the arts, launches
the photography exhibition, Intimate on 18th/ Íntimo en la 18 featuring
the work of Chicago resident Rebecca Villarreal. After 17 years in Washington,
DC, this photographer, poet and performance artist has settled in Pilsen.
Over the last eighteen months, Villarreal has documented intimate details
and hidden treasures on 18th Street, in one of Chicago's most vibrant
communities.
20% of all proceeds from the sale of images will be donated to Pilsen
Environmental Rights and Reform Organization/P.E.R.R.O.*

P.E.R.R.O. is a grassroots community group that formed in 2004 to fight
the disproportionate amount of pollution in the Pilsen neighborhood, particularly
the pollution coming from the H. Kramer foundry at 1345-47 W. 21st Street.
